Our Services

The role of structural engineers is a key component in the construction process.
Part of the wider discipline of civil engineering, structural engineering is concerned with the design and physical integrity of buildings and other large structures. It also includes earthquake engineering and high rise structures.

Our knowledge of a wide variety of structure types and construction materials always provide the client with a cost-effective and high-quality structural solution. It also provides engineering solutions for a great variety of Domestic, Commercial, Industrial, and Agriculture projects.

JMVC CSE has worked in the US, Australia, the Middle East, the UK, Europe, Canada, and Africa on a diverse range of projects.

Structural Engineering

Structural engineering theory is based on physical laws and empirical knowledge of the structural performance of different materials and geometries.

Our Design Process

Analyzing

Analyzing the architectural drawings

Once we received the architectural plans, we start by analyzing the issued plans carefully and look for possible issues that may affect the structural integrity of the building.

Checking

Checking code requirements

We make sure that everything is in conformance with the local and international code standards to prevent difficulties with the building control official approval. All structural components are to be designed in accordance with all applicable codes set out by the building officials.

Collecting

Collecting loading parameters to be applied to the structure

Site-specific wind and snow loading parameters are being collected and then running the wind and snow loading analysis using these pieces of information.

Laying out

Laying out of the preliminary structural framing configurations

We will then prepare the preliminary framing layouts ready for analysis and design. We will inform the architect for any possible changes in his architectural plans.

Analyzing

Analyzing and designing of the structural elements

Running the analysis and design calculations based on the preliminary framing layouts with all the specified loadings applied and keeping in mind the code standards to conform to during the design process.

Iteration

Iteration of the analysis and design process until both cost and safety are optimized.

Where the initial analysis and design result can be further optimized, we repeat from step 3 and modify the structural section sizes to come up with the most economical yet safe structure.

Final Step

Structural Plan and Detail Productions

We then translate our structural designs into detailed structural engineering plans and details to illustrate how the structure is to be built and provides a clear understanding and instruction to the builder as well as to the building officials.
